Early socialization is very important! Dogue De Bordeaux is a watchful and very protective breed. Sooner is better. Training should begin during puppyhood. This dogue should grow up understanding household rules and social manners and already trained in basic obedience skills. Remember, your dog is powerful and he can, if he wishes to, overpower you. About Dogue De Bordeaux

Second name for this breed is French Mastiff, some people call this dog Bordeaux Bulldog. We know this breed as Dogue De Bordeaux. Body is short but heavy and broad. With large nose, teeth meet in an underbite and upper lips hanging thickly down over the lower jaw, his face is beautiful. Small ears, eyes from hazel to dark brown. Thick tail, deep chest and muscular legs. Short coat of variety colors - various shades of fawn to mahogany with a darker red or black mask around and under the nose including the lips and eye rims.
